There's a typo, the abstract method is singular:

abstract protected function computeValue();

Thanks for sharing this on your blog and for Amplifying it.
I agree that I've always disagreed with measuring influence by plain black and white numbers. That doesn't take into account how long you've had your account, how you get those "followers" (twitter parties, linkys, etc) and how much people care about what you have to say.
Klout seems like the closest we've gotten to identify influence.
It will be interesting to see where it goes.
